Blackhawk Campgrounds suffered serious flooding damage when Clear Lake starting rising in 2016. Fanning Excavating updated their old and outdated powts (private onsite wastewater treatment system). Several other improvements have been done by Fanning Excavating to improve the campgrounds since the flooding, such as storm sewer work, sewer, and water laterals for over 250 sites, a dump station for trailers leaving the campgrounds, beach restoration, and site restoration.
This site on Turtle Lake was challenging because of setback requirements. The old POWTS (private onsite wastewater system) was abandoned. Then a small dose tank was installed on the lakeside of the home. From the dose tank, a force main lateral was installed and the waste is pumped up to two 2500 gallon holding tanks near the road for proper access. There was a total of 6” extra space with code-compliant setbacks to fit the tanks between the garage and the lot line.
Mr. Splash car wash is putting up another building on Milton Avenue in Janesville. Fanning Excavating was brought in to do the underground utility work. A lane of Milton Avenue was closed for the day while sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and a new 4” water lateral were brought into the building.
A large residential POWTS was installed recently for a trailer park. Several new tanks were installed along with a new dose tank and 2 mounds to meet compliance. Fanning Excavating also updated their domestic water system as the owners realized there were leaks under two of the trailers. All utilities were installed without losing service to the trailers.
